Adult Education 2016
Sunday School reminder: On January 3rd: we will have our normal worship schedule; but during the Sunday School hour (9:45am) we will have a welcome reception for our new interim pastor and his wife, Rev. Dr. Bob and Joyce Bardeen.
Sunday School Schedule: classes start back up on January 10th. Please note some changes coming: Two classes will be swapping meeting spaces: The Table will move across the street to The Gallery and Connette-Covenant will move back upstairs (Room 226). Two class descriptions below with more details to come…
Bob Bardeen will begin teaching a class on the Book of Revelation (Room 224)
David Augustus will begin teaching a class on the Book of James (the Gallery)
POPS: our Wednesday night suppers start back up on January 13th at 5:30pm with classes following at 6:30pm (SACPC Brown Hall)
January 13: Meet the Bardeens – “Love for the Journey”
“I am an organizational person, but I think business is not the first agenda item for any church group (whether the Session or committees or interim ministry or anything else). The first business is love.” (Bob Bardeen) You are invited to come meet Bob and Joyce and hear the story of how God has been at work through their lives. Bob and Joyce will share their personal stories and their call to SACPC, reflect on Colossians 3:12-14, and talk about the unique role of interim ministry. We look forward to seeing you there.
January 20-March 16: James – The Way of Wisdom
The Book of James speaks powerful words of faith. It challenges our life of faith – “faith without works is dead.” It calls us deeper into the faith – “welcome with meekness the implanted word that has the power to save your souls.” And it illuminates a way forward for all – “the wisdom from above.” Join Rev. David Augustus on Wednesday evenings (6:30-7:30) in the Dining Room for a journey through the Book of James.
